This jacket began its life as a quilt, carefully put together by a talented quilter who saved all of their selvedge edges ( the bit at the side with print on it that usually gets thrown away) and stitched them into diagonal squares.
The quilt has cotton batting inside, and a grey/fawn print on the reverse side. This jacket is not reversible, just turned it inside out in the photos so that you can see the finish.
All seams are bound (to conceal the batting), and because it is quite thick so the binding gives a much neater finish.
The sleeves, collar, covered buttons and pockets are all cut from Black corduroy. The sleeves are not lined.
