The St Kilda Luna Park sky artwork by Kerrie Gottliebsen celebrates the iconic Luna Park. I’ve got many fond memories of visiting Australia’s oldest theme park, including (allegedly) climbing a tree and jumping the fence after-hours with friends during my 20s. More recently, I scared the bejesus out of my very young daughter by taking her on the scenic railway and telling her that it didn’t go that high. She was terrified.

BTW If you aren’t closing your eyes, the view of St Kilda beach from the top of the railway ride is spectacular if you can embrace the fact that the rattling wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the southern hemisphere.

Luna Park opened on December 13th 1912. It’s worth a visit just to see the Park’s gorgeous vintage Carousel, the largest and most elaborate in the Southern Hemisphere. At its time of manufacture, the amusement business was flourishing with hundreds of carousels operating throughout Europe, England and America.
The Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC) was renowned for Its large, decorative carousels and was one of the most important American manufacturers. The Luna Park Carousel was number 30 of a total of 80 carousels made by the company between 1903 and 1931.

Available in A4 and A3 sizes.
