The Spotswood Glass Works artwork by Kerrie Gottliebsen celebrates the iconic glass manufacturing plant and its incredible history.
Tucked under the Westgate Bridge, the Spotswood Glass Works has been shaping the west for more than a century. I had the pleasure of organising the O-I Glass Open Day as part of the Art and Industry Festival in 2018. Regretfully, all tours sold out before I could even book myself a spot.
Seven years later, I’ve dedicated a poster to AGM, ACI, OI and now Visy, incorporating the tanks bearing the ghost signs of the Australian Glass Manufacturers’ logo.
The celebrated Spotswood glass plant started life in 1872 as the Melbourne Glass Bottle Works Company with glass made from sand mined at Fishermans Bend.
Available in A4 and A3 sizes.
