This artwork celebrates the gorgeous Bay Trail at Altona Meadows. This scene depicts the Laverton Creek Bridge in Altona Meadows which forms part of the Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail. From here you can see the Dandenongs, the city, bushland, the creek and the bay. The location features a wonderful walk through established and planted native vegetation which thrives in the local coastal environment. A team of volunteers have worked hard to create a safe and harmonious environment for native birds, insects, butterflies and other critters.
It’s a lovely peaceful walk and includes the 100 Steps of Federation. Once at the top you can enjoy expansive views across to the city, Sunshine, Point Cook, the opposite side of the bay, and a wonderful art installation.
