WHAT IS INDIE POLISH?
"Indie Nail Polish" is a niche subset of the nail polish industry. "Indie brands" are independently owned and operated small businesses (hence the term "Indie"), and are usually run by one person, who blends small batches of nail polish base with all manner of pigments and glitters, to create little bottles of magic for their customers to paint their nails with. Our Shades of Phoenix nail polishes are handmade in Ballarat Victoria and are made from the highest quality raw materials ensuring professional salon quality nail polishes.
With Indie nail polish, there may be times when a little more work is required to get the absolute best out of your polish. Usually, you will require at least 2 thin coats of your colour to achieve the best depth and/or glitter dispersement. Other polishes may require a base colour to look their best - especially when using a "Glitter Topper" style polish, where the polish may be translucent or clear, and packed with gorgeous glitters.
Most importantly, a good base coat and top coat is a MUST when using Indie nail polish, and don't forget to 'wrap your tips'.
Each bottle of Shades of Phoenix Polish is 5-free, this means that they contain NO Tosylamide Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, Camphor & talc/Formaldehyde.
