This image is a hand pulled Lino print of a staircase leading up to the city walls of Chester, UK. Chester is a very old town; it was originally a Roman Legionary Fortress and town established around 70–80AD called Deva Victrix. The city walls were built a little later but have stood for over 1000 years and can be still walked on today. After sketching directly onto a Lino tile and carving the image out, ink is applied over the surface, paper laid over the top and then pressure is applied using a Baron to create the final image.
